First Prize for the A-Tirma at the WRSC'2016

We are to be glad,

Last week the team of Division ROC with their project of autonomous robotic sailing vehicle, A-Tirma, participated in the World Robotic Sailing Championship (WRSC) 2016 in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. There, they have achieved to come back with the First Prize on the category of Sailboats. Bravo to all the people involved in this project: Jorge Cabrera Gámez, Antonio C. Domínguez Brito, Ángel Ramos de Miguel, Bernardino Valle Fernández y Juan Carlos García!. Here we include a video of the participation of Team A-Tirma at the WRSC'2016:

Here, it is also necessary to thank all the institions and companies that have supported the development of this project. Concretely our thanks to the companies Marine Signal, Solumática Canarias and Feroher. Our thanks also to the Asociación para el Desarrollo de Sistemas Marinos Autónomos (ADSMA) which has participated actively in the project, too. Our gratitude, too, for the logistic support given by the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, y the Real Club Victoria, thanks to them was possible to carry out many navigation tests in waters close to its installations. Finally, it is necessary to thank inside our university, the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the support given by the Instituto Universitario de Sistemas Inteligentes y Aplicaciones Numéricas en Ingeniería, the Departamento de Informática y Sistemas (SIANI), and the Vicerrectorado de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación.
